How Close Are We To Painting?
It has been awhile since our last construction update, but today we’ll dive into the progress at Arch + Cable over the last month! Answering the question you didn’t think you needed the answer to until now: how close are we to painting?
A big change happened this month and if you follow us on Instagram, you already saw. To create a suite facing the river, we needed to add a window. Just a window, you ask? Negative. Wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows that match the rest of the hotel. The crew got to work with cutting the exterior of the building to make way for this massive window addition. Glass will arrive in a few weeks when we also have our exterior signage placed!
Moving on to interior updates. Electrical is finished, drywall is up, and mudding and sanding have been happening. Part of the reason we haven’t had much of an update lately is because drywall makes such a difference in progress, but it does take quite a bit of time to complete.
Check out the arch that will be behind our front desk! Imagine a beautiful piece of art or a giant Christmas wreath hanging in the center.
Considering there needs to be multiple coats of mudding, with time to dry in between, the crew has really been moving along quickly with this process.
Do you remember the first blog we shared where there was a large, empty space occupying the fourth floor of the Bridge Plaza building? Take a look at this incredible before and after. Who would’ve thought we could fit 20 rooms here?
As we get closer to our opening date, we’ve been selecting furniture that matches our upscale, luxurious aesthetic. The Nardo taupe bench and Javier accent chair, pictured here, are a great representation of the look and feel of the furniture going in the room and lobby spaces.
Last, but certainly not least, our carpet has arrived! We’ve also picked bathroom tile color, baseboard style and color, and paint color. After the drywall is officially complete, we will move forward with installing the drop ceiling in the hallway and begin painting! We are so excited to see how the space will transform even more when paint is on the walls.
