Design + Planning

Modern, elevated, connected. Just a few words to describe Arch + Cable as a brand, but how did the brand start?

“Hospitality is full service and needs cohesion from the moment guests book a room online to when they walk in the front door.” Cate DeBates, Owner of Arch + Cable shared with us regarding the branding of this first hospitality venture.

Arch + Cable partnered with Kovly Studio of Mankato and Bright Pixel Design of St. Peter to take a vision, and an already existing commercial space, and reimagine it to be what is our hotel.

Kovly Studio shared with us, “Our work together started with strategy: developing everything from the core purpose of the business to the feeling we wanted every guest to have when they entered the space. That strategy then supported brand and logo development, website design and marketing, and interior design.

We used what we call "brand essence" to guide every element. From brand colors and the design of the logo to paint colors, lighting, and material selections, we worked side by side to ensure that everyone who interacts with A+C feels a sense of intentional, simple luxury that is both distinctive and casual.”

Matt Borowy, Owner of Bright Pixel Design, had some interesting thoughts to share about how he created the layout and feel of the space for Arch + Cable. “The building is designed for office spaces or condos so how could it be used for a boutique experience?”

Matt shared that the intentions for the hotel layout were to maximize space while providing larger room sizes than an average hotel because of the buildings existing structure and shape. “The focus was that this design only makes sense here. The name from the bridge close by, the design, the guest experience, all encompass Mankato and isn’t intended to be recreated elsewhere, giving a unique experience with each visit.”

We are excited to see the hard work and visions come to life as we move forward with this project. Be sure to book your first unique experience now!
